Usually, no. Your domain, website hosting, and email are separate services, and I generally recommend keeping them independent where practical.

Your domain
Your domain should be registered in an account owned and controlled by you or your business. Changing website hosting does not normally require transferring your domain.

Your website hosting
Your hosting is where your website files and database live. Your website can be moved to a different hosting provider while your domain remains registered exactly where it is.

Your email
Business email is ideally hosted separately through a dedicated provider such as Google Workspace or Microsoft 365. Moving your website to a new host should not affect your email as long as the relevant DNS and email records are preserved correctly.

If a hosting migration requires DNS changes, I’ll review the existing setup carefully and coordinate the necessary changes to minimize disruption.

Minor content updates typically include things like replacing or editing text, swapping images, updating team members or contact details, publishing supplied blog posts or case studies, and making small adjustments to existing page content or layouts.
More substantial changes, such as creating new page layouts, adding functionality, significant design changes, or development work, may require additional support time or fall outside the scope of your current plan.
If you’re unsure, just send through the request, and I’ll let you know how it fits within your plan before proceeding.

Website Care & Support is designed for ongoing maintenance, content updates, troubleshooting, technical support, and other website work within the hours and services included in your selected plan.

Larger projects such as major redesigns, extensive custom development, full copywriting or branding projects are generally outside the scope of a standard support plan and can be quoted separately.

If you need more ongoing involvement, my Partnership plan provides a more flexible level of support, with a minimum of four dedicated hours each month for businesses that need regular content updates, landing page implementation, website consulting, strategy reviews, and priority support.

Third-party costs such as hosting, domain registration, premium software, or licensing are separate unless specifically stated otherwise.

If your needs fall somewhere in between, we can also discuss a customized support arrangement based on the level of ongoing help your business requires.

I’ll always do my best to respond as quickly as possible, particularly when your website is experiencing a critical or unexpected issue.
Website Care & Support clients receive priority over ad hoc support requests, but please note that I don’t provide guaranteed 24/7 or emergency response coverage.
If resolving the issue requires work beyond what’s included in your plan, I’ll let you know and explain any additional costs before proceeding where circumstances allow.

No problem. Before taking on ongoing support, I’ll first review the website to understand its current condition and identify any outdated software, security concerns, compatibility issues, or technical debt.

Depending on what I find, I may recommend a more comprehensive Website Health Review before ongoing support begins.

If significant work is needed to bring the website up to date or establish a stable foundation, I’ll explain what needs to be addressed and provide an estimate before any additional work is carried out.

If you’re on a Website Care & Support plan, I’ll investigate the issue and work to identify the cause as quickly as possible. If you’re not on a support plan, I may still be able to assist on an ad hoc basis, with time tracked and billed accordingly once resolved.

If the problem is related to your hosting, domain, or another third-party service, I’ll liaise with the relevant provider where needed and help coordinate the steps required to get your website back online.

Because hosting is provided by a third party, I can’t guarantee their uptime or resolution times, but I’ll help manage the technical side and keep you informed throughout the process.

For most service-based business websites, I recommend a reputable managed WordPress hosting provider with strong performance, security, backups, staging capabilities, and reliable technical support.

If you already have hosting, I’ll review your existing environment and let you know whether it’s appropriate for your website. If you’re setting up new hosting or your current provider isn’t a good fit, I’ll recommend suitable options based on the specific requirements of your project.

I don’t provide or resell hosting, so your hosting account remains in your name and under your control.

That’s completely normal. As your business evolves, your website may need more frequent updates, additional implementation work, or more ongoing strategic support.

If you’re regularly using more support than your current plan provides, I’ll recommend the most appropriate next step. That might mean moving to a higher support tier, transitioning to the Partnership plan, or creating a more customized support arrangement around your needs.

Likewise, there’s no reason to pay for more support than you actually need. The goal is to keep your plan aligned with your website and business as they evolve.

Updates are carried out carefully, but compatibility issues can occasionally occur, particularly when third-party plugins become outdated, unsupported, or conflict with other software.
If an update causes an unexpected issue, I’ll investigate the problem and work to restore functionality as quickly as possible.
Routine troubleshooting and recovery are handled as part of your Website Care & Support plan. If the issue requires more extensive development because of outdated or unsupported software, custom code, or a third-party service, I’ll let you know before proceeding and provide an estimate for any additional work required.

Website Care & Support plans currently start at $75/month, with different levels of support available depending on how much ongoing help your website needs.

You can choose from Foundation, Momentum, or Partnership, with monthly and quarterly payment options available. If your needs don’t fit neatly into one of these plans, I’m also happy to discuss a customized support arrangement.

The goal is to make sure you’re paying for the level of support your business actually needs, without overcomplicating it.

Website Care & Support is generally provided during standard business hours, Monday through Friday, Central Time.

My working hours can vary depending on project schedules, meetings, workload, and availability, so I don’t guarantee specific daily support hours. Requests are scheduled and responded to as promptly as possible, with Website Care & Support clients receiving priority.

Urgent issues are assessed based on severity and availability. While I’ll always do my best to assist with critical website issues as quickly as possible, I don’t offer guaranteed 24/7 or emergency support.

Response times may also be delayed during weekends, holidays, planned leave, or other periods when I’m out of the office.

Simply send through your support request via email with as much detail as possible, along with any new text, images, documents, links, or other assets you’d like me to use via a share link.

For routine maintenance and minor updates, work is often carried out directly on your live website. For larger changes, new functionality, or updates that could affect the website more broadly, I’ll recommend working in a staging environment first to minimize risk and disruption to the live site.

If a licence expires, a product is discontinued, or a third-party service changes its pricing, functionality, or compatibility, I’ll let you know and recommend the most appropriate next step.
